Coffee on the Comfy Brown Couch

I have come to know so many of my fellow bloggers that I have been following for a while and love to imagine sitting down and having coffee with you all and just discussing life!  I invite you over to sit on my big comfy couch with a cup of your favorite coffee (or tea) and tell me about your life lately! I’ll start.

This week’s view is a sad one. Addie is sick. She has slept the past day and a half away, only waking up for a sip of water or a small bite to eat. I’m not feeling the greatest either. These allergies will be the death of me! I would ask if you suffer from allergies and what your go-to remedies are.

We would probably talk about this crazy New England weather. Yesterday, Boston hit a new record for the temperature for this time of year. 94 degrees! Ick. I try not to complain too much because while the heat is miserable, it’s better than snow. I love the warm weather, but this humidity is nuts. I would ask you your favorite season and what your favorite things to do during that time are. For me, it’s Autumn. The foliage can’t be beat in New Hampshire, and there’s nothing better than hitting up the apple orchards and pumpkin patches with the kids.

I would ask if you have any plans for the summer? I have my month-long sabbatical coming up in a month and I am really excited for it.

I would talk about Mother’s Day and how it was kind of a crappy day for me. I was looking forward to going to church with the kids to hear a service (it had been two weeks since I’ve been!) and for the kids to make some adorable Mother’s Day crafts. When we were walking out the door 10 minutes later than usual, I knew we had to hurry there to make it on time, but of course my car keys were missing. By the time we finally found them, it was way too late to go. And I suppose it’s a good thing that we didn’t end up going, because a few minutes later I got a text message from my sister saying that my mom was back in the hospital because she fell again. She is now home and on oxygen. I hope it helps her. We went to visit her for a bit and then went and grabbed lunch. Keith gave me my Mother’s Day gift, which was tickets to see the Legend of Zelda symphony in October with Aubrey. We are both big fans of the game and we are really excited to go! I would ask you what you did and if you went anywhere fun.

You would probably ask about the party decorations that we still have hanging up from Brady’s party next week. I’m kind of a procrastinator. It was a Sesame Street party and we all had a blast! When I took him to Toys R Us to cash in a couple gift cards that he got, he went nuts over the Thomas the Tank Engine aisle and he ended up getting a wooden starter set that comes with tracks and a few engines. I honestly love that he is into it because my nephews were really into it when they were little and it brings back so many memories of my childhood. I would ask what your kids are into right now and your thoughts on it. I thank my lucky stars that my kids never got into Caillou or Barney. Both of my girls were into Dora and that was bad enough!

At this point we would probably wrap things up because it’s close to Brady’s nap time and I should probably wake up Addie to see if she wants anything for lunch. I hope that you have a lovely weekend!

  1. The way you wrote this blog post is awesome! Sorry to hear you’re little one is sick 😦 We’re heading camping this weekend and it’s 5 degrees out (oh joy)- so I’d be savoring my coffee and asking you to wish me luck!
