Hello friends! I had no idea I was going to be taking a 2-month long hiatus from blogging. Life got the best of me for a little while, but I am so happy to be back and catching up on my favorite blogs. I thought it would be fun to show what we have been up to since October.
Brady had a neurology check-up in Boston. After leaving there with more questions than when we went in, we decided to start searching for a second opinion. We found a great doctor right in the next town over who gave us so many more answers and really explained the situation to us. While some of the results were scary (there is an 80% chance Brady will develop seizures. When they would start and how serious they would be is not known, but he gave us a lot of information of how to react, when to call 911, etc), we are glad to be more prepared and to have a doctor so close to home. The trips into Boston were exhausting!
We celebrated Halloween! I can’t get over what a difference a year makes. The kids were Pikachu, a fire fighter, and a dinosaur. We went trick or treating with our best friends and then went down to Keith’s dad for a little more trick or treating with the kids’ cousins!
I hiked my first mountain! My best friend and I scaled Mount Major in New Hampshire. It was a lot more strenuous than I imagined but it was such a great experience and we have plans to hike more mountains next year when the weather gets warmer.
I took the girls to see Trolls, which was so so good! Did anybody else cry during True Colors?
We adopted a cat!! The girls had been asking for a pet, and we had just started browsing around various animal shelters in the area when a coworker of mine needed to rehome this sweet girl because her senior cats weren’t getting along with her. We took her in and Aubrey named her Zelda (after Legend of Zelda, of course!). She has adapted so well to our home and we love her to pieces!
We threw my mom a surprise 70th birthday party the Sunday before Thanksgiving! Her actual birthday was yesterday, but with Christmas fast approaching we decided to have it a little early. It went really well and she loved seeing everyone!
We were supposed to have Thanksgiving at my sister’s house, but she got sick a couple of days before Turkey Day so we brought everything over to my house and I hosted. It was a lot of work but so worth it!
This little guy turned 18 months old! I can’t believe we are halfway to 2. I’ve already picked out a theme for his 2nd birthday party (I love planning parties!). He is almost ready to start walking (finally!), has a new obsession with Elmo, and loves to terrorize his sisters when they are playing video games by shutting the Xbox off 😉
And last but not least, this damn elf is back. Anybody else regret ever starting this tradition? Haha! The kids love it so it’s worth it, but remembering to move it every night is a pain! I haven’t forgotten yet, but he is pretty boring this year. I need to scour Pinterest for some fun ideas. He is currently hiding out in the Barbie Dreamhouse elevator.
What have you all been up to? Once I hit Publish I am going to my feed and trying to catch up, but it has been a while so I don’t want to miss anything good!
sounds like you had a fun & eventful weekend! (minus the doctor visit of course) – I hope those seizures stay away for a long time!

Dang, y’all have been busy! I totally feel you on the elf tradition…I so admire all of you mommies that are able to keep up with it! I haven’t started with it because my oldest is only 2.5, so I’m weighing the pros and cons of starting it next year…
