Ugh, Monday again! The coffee game is strong over here this morning. We had such a busy weekend spent with family and I’m excited to share it with you! (Warning: this post is photo heavy!)
On Friday, we went to Six Flags with Keith’s family. I got up early and made blueberry muffins and scrambled eggs to fill our bellies up for a long day. We left around 8:00 and got to Six Flags right around 10:00. We lathered everyone up with SPF 10,000 while we waited for the rest of the family to show up. Once his parents got there and took the kids, Keith and I headed to the Superman roller coaster with Keith’s stepbrother and his wife. If you have ever been, you know how long this line can get so we knew we had to go there first.
Going on that roller coaster reminded me that I am no longer a teenager and can not handle the 200+ ft drop that comes with it.
We met back up with my in-laws after we got off the ride and took the kids on some rides and then met up with everyone for lunch and to relax a little bit.
After lunch, it was back to the rides!
They had splash pads and sprinklers throughout the park that definitely came in handy while we tried to keep cool. Temps were around 95 that day and it was so humid.
Around 4:00 we decided to go to the water park. I didn’t want to bring my camera into the water so I only got a few pictures on my phone.
We went on a few more rides after the water park and then started to head out. They were closing up the rides due to thunderstorm warnings, and we didn’t want to get home too late since it was a 2 hour drive. When we were heading to the parking lot we saw this and thought it was pretty cool. It was the only white cloud in the sky.
We ended up getting home around 11:00pm and got right to bed since Saturday was going to be another long day. Keith’s uncle/Godfather sadly passed away last week due to a stroke and his wish was to have a private mass instead of a wake and funeral. I made a dessert to bring to the reception and then we headed to the church. The kids all did surprisingly well considering the amount of time we were there. After the service, we headed back to Keith’s dad’s house for food and spending time with the family.
Brady loves him some watermelon.. and his sweet auntie/Godmother Michelle!
Yesterday the kids & I headed off to church while Keith went into work. We have been going to our church for a little over 4 months and I love listening to the girls talk about God and Jesus in their every day conversations. It really warms my heart and confirms that I made the right choice by finding a church that was so focused on their kids ministry! After church we had lunch and my in-laws came over to watch the kids while I went into work.
I can’t remember the last time we had such a busy weekend, but I really enjoyed spending so much time with Keith’s family, even if Saturday was a sad day. The kids have a blast hanging out with their cousins and it’s great to catch up with those that we don’t see very often.
What did you do this weekend?
